The Formula Grasstrack Association begins its 50th year of existence on Saturday when the tapes rise on the 2023 season.
Sponsored by H and N Supplies Ltd for the 2nd consecutive year, FGA competitors will head to The Rally Site, Malpas on the Cheshire/ Shropshire border.

A field of over 40 rider’s across 6 classes with ages ranging from 4 upwards and all 6 if 2022s champions have entered.
Kingswinford’s Lilly Bence returns to defend her E-Bike crown and will have to beat newcomers Dalton Wright and Kobi Gutteridge whilst also battling with the much-improved Eric Derrick who came on impressively in 2022.
Charlie Dowd will be keen to continue his dominance of the auto cadet class. The boy from Eccles was a shining light in 2022 and heads up a strong class of riders this time out. Alfie Shipp makes the long trip over from Diss, Dakota Wright returns after a couple of run-outs last season and fga newcomers Amelia Cross and Kaylem Bourne join Alfie Salisbury and Lucas Astley in the category.
Oxford speedway mascot Chloe Davis makes her FGA return after doing 2 meetings in 2022. This time she has moved up to the cadet category and is joined by AJ Bence, who is also on new, bigger machinery.
In the cub category, champion Logan Price returns to defend his 2022 title bit will have stiff opposition with the fast charging Finley Theobald making the trip up from Diss. Joining them will be cadet champion Jessica Cox, who is stepping up to the 9-12 category.
Joe Crewe returns to defend his Junior championship. He will have his work cut out against a strong field of 12-16 year olds. Joe’s brother, Jack will be keen to improve on his 2022 season. Bristol’s Max Derrick is back for another bite of the fga cherry alongside Jack Baker. Both had a successful year in 2022. Multi youth fga champion Ollie Binns comes back into the junior category after a couple of outings in 2022. Liam Cox, Isaac Collins-Bullock and Charlotte Arthur complete the line up.
Wayne Broadhurst kicks off his defence of the senior title and will be look to make it 3 championships on the bounce. The Shrewsbury ace will have see off stiff opposition with the return of Phil Thomas who is back on the FGA scene after missing 2022 due to serious injuries sustained in the 250 class. Thomas is a class act on the 125cc machines and will push Broadhurst all the way. Joining the two Shropshire veterans is gt140 ace, Mark Scopes who makes his Formula Grasstrack debut. Scopes will be in the mix for sure after making a successful return to Grasstrack in recent seasons.
Young chargers Max Broadhurst and Sam Hall will be expecting to challenge for a podium spot whilst Andrew Rowson will be keen to be as consistent as he was in 2022.
A field of 22 Seniors will create a day of great racing.
Practice 12pm with the 1st race at 1pm.
