Round one of the eagerly awaited 2023 Scottish Motocross Championship will take place in the gruelling and bottomless sand of Tain this Saturday and Sunday 4th & 5th March.

Situated in the far north of Scotland overlooking the Dornoch Firth and within view of the famous Glenmorangie distillery, round one of this newly rebranded series is the first of the major British championships to get underway.
With a prize fund running into tens of thousands of pounds and with further significant sums of money being pledged to all of the major classes in vouchers, this six round series is quickly becoming an unmissable one. MX1 riders will receive money down to 25th this year and with a series bonus being paid at the end of the season it will be possible for a single rider in MX1 to win a staggering £15,000.00 from just six races.
MX1 is filled with international talent for round one. Britain’s first ever MX1 Grand Prix winner and reigning Scottish Motocross Champion Billy MacKenzie & 3 times GP winner, will come into round one wearing the number 1 plate. Shaun Simpson, himself a 5 time Grand Prix winner will be hot on his heels with South African Team mate Tristan Purdon. The ultra aggressive and spectacular John Adamson may well be a favourite this time out, but with likes of Brad Anderson, James Hutchinson and Brad Todd in the mix, it may very well be an Englishman that takes that historic Donald Sinclair trophy south across the border.

The Englishmen Carlton Husband, Sam Atkinson and Daniel Hutchinson will come into round one as strong favourites in MX2, with Scotsman Ryan Mclean also set to be in the mix for honours.
